I tried this on a venture, and I got something useful that worked. I started from ftp://archive.services.openoffice.org and worked from /pub down to mirrors on further down to this path. I hope the path doesn't change.
I prefer anon ftp anyway due to the fact that I prefer to queue up my files when I download, because I download them in groups when I do. ftp://archive.services.openoffice.org/pub/mirrors/openoffice-archive/stable/ and also ftp://archive.services.openoffice.org/pub/openoffice-archive/stable/ which I didn't notice until later. 2.4.3/ can be found underneath either path. as I said before, 2.4.3 was the last version that appears to work under windows 9x/me (for those who distribute DVD's). Windows 9x/me machines are needing DVD drive replacements because the old cdrom drive has died. So DVD's are practically ubiquitous. In fact, you can pick up a working used dvd-rom drive for $5, and some windows 9x machines already have a dvd-rom (e-machines). so vendors, it may be just fine to make standard DVD's of your software now. ________________________________ From: Volker Merschmann <[email protected]> To: [email protected]; Jim Michaels <[email protected]> Sent: Wed, May 19, 2010 1:04:31 AM Subject: Re: [distro-dev] please bring 2.4.3 back for 98/me users Hi, 2010/5/19 Jim Michaels <[email protected]>: > http://archive.services.openoffice.org/mirrors/openoffice-archive/ > > is completely a blank page. > so is > > http://archive.services.openoffice.org/openoffice-archive/ > > has your archive disappeared? > No. http://archive.services.openoffice.org/ leads you to a random mirror next to you. Maybe you should try another time and would find the files on another server. Can you recognize which server you were directed to?
