Wow! That was sudden!

I liked Gerry. I've only just signed up to help with the project and Gerry went out of his way to make me feel welcome and to help me begin to figure out where I could help.

I'll miss him.

Blessings for his loved ones during this difficult time.

This is very sudden news about Gerry Singleton. He died of a heart attack on May 12th in a Toronto hospital.

I just talked with him on the phone about 5 days ago. He was discussing the User Guide, and his plans for moving it forward, and I found out his mother passed away about a week ago. Just the type guy he was, he mentioned what was going on in his personal life after the project was being discussed.

He has been co-lead on this project since May of 2004, and was helping the project along for awhile before then. I consider him to be a very close friend, even though we never met in person. Which is the way it is with online communities like ours. We have talked about a trip to Toronto at some point, but always felt there was time.

My thoughts go out to his family, especially after losing two members so quickly. His absence will definitely be felt.
