Hi Clayton,

As the "In other languages" section and the "Welcome to" section point to the same direction I would propose to get rid of the "Welcome to" section as soon as the problem with the links to the German pages is resolved. This will add to a clear layout of the page and make it easier to maintain the page.

I agree. So, next step is to get in contact with the German community and see what can be done to move the pages from the current DE: structure to /DE/ sub-pages.

After the move, we will also need to actually delete the associated Wiki redirect pages since they will also cause problems with the InterWiki links.

There is a risk/impact with changing around the DE pages like this... there are roughly 100 Wiki articles with this DE: or De: naming convention. If we move the pages and then delete the redirects, there will be broken internal links (fixable, but not easy to find) and possible broken external links where people may link directly to a page from an external webpage (we cannot fix these).

Who can we contact about this?

The German community needs to:
 - know that we would like to move these Wiki pages and the reason
 - know that they should not create new Wiki pages with the DE: structure
 - agree to this change in how they create their Wiki pages
