The general idea for the Dev Guide etc is to assume the info applies to
all versions unless otherwise indicated. There are several parts of the
Dev Guide which have version specific info and are marked as such. For
these documents (Dev and BASIC Guide), the version changes are not so
big - ie the changes are more incremental... new things added and can be
clearly tagged as "from version x.y and up".
