I have uploaded a draft "template" (in .odt format) for OOoV3 user guide chapters. Later on I'll also provide a proper template (.ott).

I think I've included all the necessary styles, but no doubt some tweaking to the styles will be needed before it's reasonably stable. And some more instructions may be necessary. This one document is intended to serve (as Gary was doing) as both a template and a template how-to, instead of having separate documents for the two purposes as we had in the past.

I borrowed from Gary's draft style changes, modifying all the styles to fit a landscape orientation intended for onscreen viewing. I also took into account the excellent comments made in discusssions on these lists over the past few days, for which I thank the participants very much.

As always, comments on this draft are welcome. Barring dramatic objections to anything I've done, I think it's ready to use.

BTW, I started from a blank file containing no custom styles, and I did NOT load or copy any styles from existing documents. The first time I tried this, I loaded styles and ended up with some junk that caused problems... no doubt related to the long and convoluted history of our documents. So, to avoid any historical problems creeping in to the new template, I started over and manually entered all the necessary styles. If you choose to modify anything in this template, please do NOT do it by loading or copying styles as that might contaminate the clean file.
