We do give people a nudge once in a while on the OOo Forum: http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/index.php and forum members do write titorials and HowTos which they have released for re-use in the FAQs and the Docs in general. I am curious to see if the social networking thing will work. There are a lot of people out there that are not aware of what help is needed, and not aware that they could actually help out with little effort on their part - a simple review by someone who knows the topic is a huge help.
