Others may disagree, but I see no reason why you should not be allowed to
approach contributors to work on specific items of interest to you.  It is
the reality that programmers have to pay bills too :).

As long as any posts you make on the dev list are made with the goal of
improvement to Drill I'm sure it will be acceptable. Of course please keep
any agreement you have with developers, private and off the list.
