[~peeyushb], also, counter.txt is a very specific file introduced only to
capture Replication Metrics. No other processes emit into that file. There is a
concept of stats that is available in Falcon feed. Basically, every feed can
specify a stats folder where it can dump all counters (see feed specification
for details). Stats was specifically introduced for the purpose of capturing
counters for a process instance. Ideally, we should have used stats rather than
create counter.txt file.
