Sahoo, I have attached a modified version of your patch, but the overall
approach is the same. I have tested it locally and it appears to work for me.
Take a look and let me know what you think. If it looks good, I will apply it.
BTW, I also committed changes and deployed a snapshot of shell that has
commands for starting/stopping transiently.
