Felix Meschberger commented on FELIX-1061: ------------------------------------------ I don't like this patch because it throws a 500 excetion into the face of the user. I agree, that we should enhance the user response to installation and update requests, but sending a 500 is IMHO not the correct way to do it. I agree, that we should at least log the situation. > [PATCH] webconsole silently ignores bundles which have no Bundle-SymbolicName > header > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > Key: FELIX-1061 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FELIX-1061 > Project: Felix > Issue Type: Bug > Components: Web Console > Affects Versions: webconsole-1.2.8 > Reporter: Bertrand Delacretaz > Assignee: Carsten Ziegeler > Priority: Minor > Fix For: webconsole-1.2.10 > > Attachments: FELIX-1061.patch > > Original Estimate: 0h > Remaining Estimate: 0h > > Trying to install a bundle which has no Bundle-SymbolicName header silently > fails with the current console, there no error report in the log or in the > web browser. > Other exceptions during bundle installation are also invisible from the > console web interface, they are only logged. > With the attached patch, exceptions during bundle installation cause a 500 > HTTP status and exception report in the web browser, and the InstallAction > throws an IOException if a bundle has no Bundle-SymbolicName. -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - You can reply to this email to add a comment to the issue online.
