Devs - Back in 2023 we referenced the ASF policy. That policy is little changed but I encourage you to read it in full https://www.apache.org/legal/generative-tooling.html <https://www.apache.org/legal/generative-tooling.html>
As AI use has expanded in our society, and tooling keeps evolving, *Emails*. I think naturally we are seeing some use of LLMs in formulating emails. I think best practice now (evolving) is to use AI for clarifying your emails, but not to replace your brain. *Tickets and write ups* If you make use of an LLM to write up a bug report in a jira ticket - then I would say you should share both the Model (which LLM and version) and the prompt used to generate the text. *Code & Documentation * See the policy for the conditions that must be met. As Machine generated content and code cannot be copyrighted in the same way as a human contribution, they must be tracked according to the policy very specifically. Let's discuss.
