*Hello Fineract community and GSoC 2026 mentors,*

I am writing to seek guidance on my GSoC 2026 proposal direction to ensure
it aligns perfectly with the community’s expectations and the official
validation process.

I have established strong momentum within the *Progressive Loan module*
through *FINERACT-2520 (PR #5592)*. As of yesterday, the PR is *100% Green*,
passing all *44 CI checks*. It is fully GPG-signed, verified, and formatted
according to project standards. I’ve also resolved local environment
blockers regarding the JDK 17/21 mismatch to ensure a stable setup for the
summer.

*Proposal Inquiry:* Given my familiarity with this module’s logic, I would
like to propose a project focused on *"Functional Extensions and Logic
Refinements for the Progressive Loan Module."* However, I have two specific
questions regarding the selection process:

   1.

Since this specific title is not explicitly listed as a POC on the
Confluence GSoC 2026 Ideas list, would proceeding with this custom
direction cause any issues during the *proposal validation or review
period*? I want to ensure my application remains competitive and
   technically "safe" for the project.
   2.

If the mentors prefer that all GSoC students strictly select an idea
from the *official Confluence list* (such as the BI Connector or Loan
Origination POC), I am more than happy to pivot. My primary goal is to
contribute where the project needs it most.

I would prefer to leverage my success with the disbursement charge logic to
deliver production-ready enhancements, but I am ready to follow the
community’s lead.

Thank you for your time and for the ongoing mentorship.

*Best regards,*

Vignesh
