Hi,

I wonder if the problem is actually "easier" to fix. I've had no problems
using the Flink Kafka connector on newer Flink versions. Isn't the purpose
of a stable Source and Sink API that connector versions should be OK to use
on new versions, as long as they don't (of course) rely on non-public APIs?
That's what I wanted to research before I posted a FLIP about connectors
and their docs, but we can already discuss this of course.
