Hari Shreedharan commented on FLUME-1665:
-----------------------------------------
Why do we need to sync inflightPuts and inflightTakes to disk when the channel
is stopping? Inflights are only meant to make sure replay is consistent when
replaying from a checkpoint. During replay the checkpoint is mmap-ed and the
inflights are replayed into the checkpoint, then the logs are replayed from
that point.
Inflights are essentially events in flight during a checkpoint and need not be
synced to disk during shutdown.
> Data from FileChannel will be duplicated when restarting configuration

> When Flume process was running, I changed configuration property and Flume
> rebooted without process restarting. Events will be duplicated in next loop,
> also has been consumed before all components have stopped.
> I found the root cause. When FileChannel was stopping, it should save the
> 'inflightPuts' and 'inflightTakes' into disk for preparing in next loop.
