IMO this issue causes problems in mixed environments (using OpenOffice 2 and 3 in one company for various reasons). If a document was opened in OpenOffice 3 and meta.xml had changed (open document properties dialog and confirming with ok), the custom document properties can't be read with OpenOffice 2 anymore.
