Meanwhile, I recommend going through
https://freemarker.apache.org/committer-howto.html#making-releases, if you
haven't done that, because the release procedure will be quite similar.

To publish things on the freemarker.apache.org web pages, you just commit
into the "asf-site" branch of the freemarker-site repo. (See all the repos
here: https://freemarker.apache.org/sourcecode.html)
