Hi,

as Russel would put it, Gradle has finally given in to the Git Borg and is now being assimilated.

We have agreed on the dev list quite a while ago to migrate to Git. The reason why we haven't done it yet is that we wanted to have some sync between a Git master and a Svn slave. I'm not sure how important that sync is. With GitHub you can download source tar balls. So for people not using Git there is always a way to build from the latest sources.

Most Gradle developers already use Git. So it is time to use the full potential of this approach and have a Git master at GitHub.

There is now a gradle github user with a gradle repository which serves as the master. The gradle/gradle repository has a number of collaborators, which are the committers and can push to the gradle/ gradle repository with their public keys.

The svn import is running at the moment. So please don't commit anything to svn any longer. I will send a follow up when the import is done and the gradle/gradle repo can be used.
