Hello everyone, I'm pleased to announce the first release candidate for HBase 1.3.0 is available to download and testing.

HBase 1.3.0 is the third minor release in the HBase 1.x line and includes approximately 1700 resolved issues. Notable new features include: - Date-based tiered compactions (HBASE-15181, HBASE-15339) - Maven archetypes for HBase client applications (HBASE-14877) - Throughput controller for flushes (HBASE-14969) - Controlled delay (CoDel) based RPC scheduler (HBASE-15136) - Bulk loaded HFile replication (HBASE-13153) - More improvements to Procedure V2 - Improvements to Multi WAL (HBASE-14457) - Many improvements and optimizations in metrics subsystem - Reduced memory allocation in RPC layer (HBASE-15177) - Region location lookups optimizations in HBase client and numerous bugfixes and performance improvements.
