Closing a non-blocking client connection?

Is there a preferred way of closing a connection using the IOReactors
& [N]HttpRequestExecutionHandlers?  The only thing I can think of
would be to close it in submitRequest or handleResponse.  Is there
another (better?) way of doing it?
