While doing HIVE-8222 I looked through the code a bit and one thing that jumps
out are the changes to SemanticAnalyzer. IntelliJ IDEA gets so sluggish on that
class that it's basically unusable. This patch adds another couple thousand
lines to it. I'd be very much in favor of moving out some of those methods if
at all possible.
