Mentors quite frequently drop out after graduation but I would like to stay on as a PMC member.
As others have said in this thread, being a PMC member is about governance (with a particular duty to vote on releases) and a broad PMC benefits the project, because all perspectives get heard and wisdom prevails. I think Hans is an excellent choice as initial PMC chair. A few Apache projects rotate PMC chairs - e.g. Calcite elects a new chair each anniversary of graduation, and to date no one has served more than one term - and after graduation that’s an idea I would like Hop to consider.
