Acutally, I must have screwed up somewhere with a missing configure or
make clean or whatever. I was switching among different Solaris
releases with the same tree. I just finished trying it more carefully
this time and found that everything builds fine on Solaris 2.5.1, 2.6,
2.7, 2.8.
