Have you though about Backend implementation that uses the local file system?  
The in memory version is good for unit tests, but for developers running a 
local stack, a local file system version would be helpful.  Logic:  production 
system runs at AWS, but developers run local stack; developers  don't want to 
use S3 (time & cost) for their local stacks, but want to simulate production as 
closely as possible.
