But if the GSoC has a similar format as RSoC, I think you could become a
great mentor for Peter if both of you are interested on that.
so you say I can "subscribe" somewhere as mentor for "bundler managing
maven artifacts for jruby projects". maybe you have some pointers at
hand - I would appreciate it.
I can help with ideas of course if you want my help, but I learned that I
can't commit myself with something like this because I never know when my
time will be greatly requested by my employers...
all your feedback is welcome even if I do not share the same
enthusiasm for bundler as you ;)
It seems it works in a different way from RSoC:

I guess the organization (JRuby) is going to select the mentors by their
own methods. Charles Nutter is probably the best one to decide on that
and to explain how things work as he already participated actively in
previous projects.
So I wouldn't worry in your case. You had already demonstrated interest
on being a mentor. Charles will probably decide on that if he approves
the Maven-Bundler integration project as one of JRuby slots projects.
I'm really hoping for this idea to be accepted as I find this lack of
integration as the main reason for the low adoption of JRuby on Rails
when compared to other frameworks like Grails, Play and Spring. This
will be a great scenario change in my opinion after JRuby supports
proper Maven integration in Rails projects (meaning Bundler integration).
I'm really looking forward to this integration being possible some time
soon. :)
Good luck, guys!
