The plan is to have 1.x releases (including 1.11.0 with my huge refactoring) an R6 implementation (org.osgi.service.log 1.3), while 2.x releases and R7 implementation (org.osgi.service.log 1.4). I'm finishing work on: - https://ops4j1.jira.com/browse/PAXLOGGING-251 (JBoss Logging "real" facade) - https://ops4j1.jira.com/browse/PAXLOGGING-191 (probably unnecessary and harmful locking) - https://ops4j1.jira.com/browse/PAXLOGGING-249 (JUL logging levels propagation) 1.11.0 should be a drop-in replacement for 1.10.2, but underneath it's so different that I didn't want to be too fast here. But I see no problems using it in Karaf 4.2.7.
