I'm afraid I can't see how this helps me?

I can define a new dictionary as you suggested but I can't point it to the
alternative .dic/.aff files and I still have to designate is as English UK
and the main en_GB dictionary takes precedence. This is a feature for
adding a small number of custom words to a dictionary but doesn't do what
we need.

BTW. MS Word does not have an OED dictionary and this is an issue for many
international organisations. If we could offer an OED style dictionary with
OOo this would be a coup and a great selling point. I have a beta version
of the dictionary compiled here, but I can only test it by swapping out my
standard en-GB dictionary or by calling it something different.

Regards
David.
