Hi
A solution to fix
the decimal separator problem would be to select another locale in
OpenOffice but this
would generate a problem with the thousands separator. Perhaps a
specific locale plus a
specific cell format would do it ? I say no because it would be time
consuming by
comparison with Excel.
why time consuming ?
did you try to modify your default template (done only once) as i
suggested you ?
I don't say it will solve your problem, but i think it is worth a try
setting all your numeric formats to english format would be a good first
step
I really want to set the '.' as the decimal separator in the French
environment and keep
every other parameter unchanged. Thus, I could type in numbers easily
and when I send a
Calc document to anybody, the decimal separator would be seen as '.' or
',' according to
the locale which has been selected on the target computer.
hum, you are then free to compil OOo to suit your needs
