Hi,
the Kurdish team has translated large portions of OpenOffice with the
translation portal Rosetta. Rosetta is said to have used the
translation-toolkit to produce 11 large po-files instead of 231 small
ones with the "multifile" option of the script oo2po. To merge these
translations back into a sdf file I am trying to reproduce this
process, to find out what the files will be named.
But I still have problems using the new "multifile" option of the
translate-toolkit script "oo2po". I am trying to produce some po-files
using the option
--multifile=toplevel
with commands like this:
oo2po --multifile=toplevel en-US.sdf targetdir
The result is always the same and the same as when not using the
"multifile" option: lots of directories and po-filed appear. Even if I
choose "--multifile=onefile" the result is the same.
Hmmm. It doesn't appear to work at all. I can see some of the problems
in the source code; I'm not sure if this is because the patches
originally submitted were incomplete or because of some other problem.
I can try and have a look at it, but see below
I am using the 0.8.2005.0217 version of the translate-toolkit, so the
option should be there. Where did I go wrong?
Do you really mean this version? If so, its hopelessly old, as the new
switches were only added at the end of last year. 0.8rc5 should do it
though.
I would be glad if anybody could help me out. I've been trying all
day, read all the documentations and really got stuck.
I'd just like to point out that Rosetta are the people who want this
feature, so they should really be the ones to implement it / fix it. I
would probably be more keen to help out if Rosetta were open source :-)
But for your sake I'll see if I can give it a go soon. I've been on
holiday for a week and so it may take a while to catch up on everything
else though.
Cheers
David
