Hi Clytie,

you are welcome!

Yes, the wiki has the advantage that can be updated by yourself in case you have more precise stats. My idea is to post such statistics once a month, this should really help to monitor the translation progress...

Excellent! :)

The translation status has been extracted from the Sun internal translation database.

Clytie, Ain,
I looked at the statistics at: http://l10n.kde.org/stats.php and I do agree with you that this would be really great to have. Unfortunately, all I can provide at the moment is a wiki page with approx. percentages of the transaltion work done.

It's a very good start. This is something to which we can point people, and also something we can update ourselves from our internal stats (e.g. from Pootle).

Is this something that helps you monitoring your translation work? If yes, how often would you like to receive such statistics? I will definitively provide you with updated statistics on January 3rd - 4th just before the start date for translation update 2.2 - see roadmap at http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/OOoRelease22.

I think as far as our language is concerned, we can probably update the wiki ourselves most reliably. We have the stats internally. But only people logged into Pootle can see them. So this provides an external stats page, which also shows all languages. It's a very useful resource.

This would, for example, have saved me having to keep an external record while we were working our way through the GUI strings, for the community to see. Once they have the URL for this page (which I will add to our project site), they can see how we are going.

Your feedback on the statistics wiki is really welcome!

Thankyou for acting so promptly and effectively to bring a little more light on the l10n process. :)
