Finally, despite all Pootle problems, we managed to get the spanish UI
on Pootle back to 100%.
In the process I've discovered a possible cause for Pootle server
hickups. The file stored at cui/source/options.po had grown bigger than
50 MB, so when I was trying to edit some string on that file, Pootle
hanged, and doesn't answered anymore.
That file contained more than 10,000,000 (yes, ten million) lines
containing only the character sequence: '#-"' . After all those lines
there were some commented out strings. I've removed all those lines
except the commented out ones, in case they are there for some reason,
and submitted it to Pootle again, overwriting the failed one. After that
I've worked on Pootle without problems. IMHO it can be a good idea to
investigate further on other languages if there are other files having
this problem.
I also want to request to Pootle admins, Frank or Ivo if it is possible
to remove all goals, assignments and suggestions for our language, as it
seems to be stalled assignments and suggestions that can't be removed.
I've tried in all possible ways, and they don't go away. We need this
ASAP as we want to start from zero working on OO.o Help strings for 3.3.
Best regards,
Santiago
