Yeah, that sucks. My first implementation was a total rewrite of the ac
but I had to drop that since it was too much of an effort. That is why I
extended the ac we had with the method attribute.

hmm, not sure. How do you mean? Like having the ac stuff within the
sitetree.xml directly or have a sync-able copy of it which contains
exclusively the ac information?
