Hi Bertrand,
Thanks for your proposal of help just to let you know, there is a french community you can join at [email protected] [email protected]
* I am ever so grateful for people toward people like you at OpenOffice. I’ve been reading what your goals are in improving different areas of the application. I am not an expert in software development but what caught my eye was the dictionarry improvement issue. Should OpenOffice decide to add the French language to its menu I’d be more than happy to help in that sector. Should you require my expertise in the French language I am at your disposal without question. Should you need to contact me to share what little that I can offer I would be honored to be asked and furthermore I am at your service automatically.
the problem of not delivering the french dictionnary is a matter of licence. Nevertheless, it can be installed using
File > autopilots > install new dictionaries
Concerning french linguistic work, i'm actually working on a Kevin Scannel "A Gramadoir" grammar checker with Myriam Lechelt (you can read her blog at http://blogs.nuxeo.com/sections/blogs/myriam_lechelt/).
We will soon release our tagged dictionnary in order to start collaborative work on correcting and enhancing it. I'll announce it asap (when web site ready)
Laurent
