Ramil Sagum and I created the existing Tagalog myspell dictionary
using a web crawler and some statistical methods (and lots of hard work
by Ramil manually editing word lists).

Unfortunately you can't implement phenomena like reduplication
using the myspell formalism for affixes (and probably not with hunspell
either, though I could be wrong about that). We got something
basic working with Gramadóir (http://borel.slu.edu/gramadoir/) but never
really followed up on it.

Anyway, let me know if I can be of some help. I assume the
spelling and grammar checking modules you're creating will be open source?
