>- see footer for list info -< Thanks Andy. That ActionScript looks interesting, especially since it underpins the whole Flash/Flex/AIR stuff.

Thanks for mentioning them though. :) For the reference of anyone else possibly looking, here are some potential courses (other than those already mentioned) I've found: 3 day MySQL Administration course http://www.ptr.co.uk/mysql-administration-course.htm 5 day Implementing and Maintaining SQL Server 2005 course http://www.ptr.co.uk/sqlserver2005.htm Project Management Overview, 1 day http://www.capita-ld.co.uk/training-courses/project-management/Course-details.htm?id=LPMAN Project management: People skills, 2 days http://www.capita-ld.co.uk/training-courses/project-management/Course-details.htm?id=BLPR6 Security Fundamentals, 5 days http://net-security-training.co.uk/courses/security-fundamentals.html Web Application Security Audit (WASA) Course, 5 days http://www.learningit.com/security/websecurity.asp On Wed, Mar 5, 2008 at 11:28 PM, Andy Allan <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > >- see footer for list info -< > Peter Elst (http://www.peterelst.com) teaches some courses at > Skillsmatter if you're looking for some Flash or Actionscript stuff > > http://skillsmatter.com/menu/60/course/188 > > As you don't need CF training, there's no point me pimping our CF Admin > courses, but we also offer SVN/Trac and FusionDebug/Reactor > (http://www.fuzzyorange.co.uk). > > Oh, and glad to see you'll be back at Scotch this year. > > Andy > > > > Peter Boughton wrote: > >> - see footer for list info -< > >> > > Thanks Mark, I've just been looking at the Highlander Flex courses, so > good > > to have it re-affirmed. > > > > Conference-wise, I will be going to Scotch on the Rocks this year - it > was a > > toss up between that and CFUNITED, and Scotch won. :) > > > > > > On Wed, Mar 5, 2008 at 5:20 PM, Mark Smyth <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > wrote: > > > > > >>> - see footer for list info -< > >>> > >> Hi Peter > >> > >> Flex is a good skill to pick up and http://www.highlander.co.uk have a > >> good > >> reputation for training courses > >> > >> Other that that it might be a good idea to pick conferences instead of > >> courses, which are always useful for picking up cutting edge knowledge > >> > >> Theres one in London next week > >> > >> > >> > http://www.ukcfug.org/index.cfm?objectid=75B2324E-F1FF-921E-1AA912722C6E080F > >> > >> Regards > >> mark > >> > >> -----Original Message----- > >> From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > >> [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Peter Boughton > >> Sent: 05 March 2008 16:35 > >> To: Coldfusion Development > >> Subject: [CF-Dev] training/courses > >> > >> > >>> - see footer for list info -< > >>> > >> Hi all, > >> > >> Our director needs to budget for any training for the next year and has > >> asked for any potential courses/training we'd like to do. > >> > >> I'm ok with ColdFusion itself, so not looking for core CF courses, but > >> there > >> are probably plenty of related/surrounding courses that could be > useful. > >> > >> > >> Currently I've got four possible areas: > >> - Database performance/tuning (eg: configuration, when to indexes, > >> sub-queries vs temp tables, etc) > >> - Project Management methodologies/techniques. > >> - Security & cryptography. > >> - Flex / Flash / Acrobat > >> > >> > >> So, does anyone have recommendations for specific courses, or other > ideas > >> for areas which a CF developer could seek training in?
