Hi All,

I've got a problem that is affecting the running of my live server at the moment, and causing hundreds of users to get very p***ed off.

I have a session timeout of 60 minutes, and the normal Session.LoggedIn variable that is checked via application.cfm to ensure the user is still logged in on every page.

What I'm finding more and more is that people log in, use the system for a while, then all of a sudden they'll click on something (no pattern to what they click on) and get chucked back to my application logon screen, which seems to imply to me that they've had a session timeout, even though they've only had, say 30 seconds of inactivity.

I have watched this for myself in a room where 10 people were all using the application.  Sometimes they'd all get chucked out within a couple of seconds of each other.

I really don't have a clue where to even look at what is causing this.  I've looked in server.log and find a lot of the following when users get logged off:

  Date

  Time

  Severity

  ThreadID

  Application Name

  2004-07-02

  15:05:17

Sometimes there might be 500-1,000 of these in a 2 second time period, all with the same ThreadID.  Is this just a by-product of them getting logged off, or is this the cause?

If anyone can shed any light on this I would be extremely grateful as it's really beginning to affect the credibility of the application.

Thanks
