Are the servers load balanced? Also have you recently changed CF to use UUID as Tokens (or vice versa)?

Its usually related to a named pipe failure of some sort. Indicating that there is some form of network problem connecting to the SQL Server or problem with the SQL Server connectiing back. Are you using a DB to store your session data and if so is it a SQL DB? I've had this before but because I was using a Developer Edition of SQL Server to test on. Though i wasn't using my DB to store session data. It threw errors when I got more than 5 connections to the DB. I reduced the pooled connections and it fixed it.
