Hello All,
I was toying with building a custom portable player. I have a hardware setup that is based on an Intel Atom processor, a LCD screen with a usb touchscreen overlay... Initially i installed windows XP, creating my application using windows media playe + .NET Winforms (i had tried windows presentation, but the vectors were killing the processor)... It looked okay, but it was laggy., i have decided to go the Linux route.... a few important details. I have never played with linux :) i have had a lot of experience with flash (back in 98-03) What i want to do...... I want to use MONO to create a cross platform "Engine".. The idea is that i will have this engine., and my flash interface will be able to call specific functions in the engine and display data., the reason why i want to seperate the engine and the UI is so that i can deploy this on wither a linux player, or a winxp player., and design different UI's ., and possibly allowing users to create their own ui's based on the engine sdk... I am currently downloading ubuntu... full desktop release... while the 600mb has been downloading i started reading about ubuntu MID... and eventually landed up here.... I noticed that in moblin you can either have a flash based ui., or a clutter ui? Can someone please give me some pointer and push me in the right direction? also... instead of deploying my stuff directly on the device... can i use microsoft virtual machine to create a virtual environment and install moblin? any pointers on how i should use the mobile image creator to create the platform for flash? + mono? ** I had posted the above on the website/blog. it was suggested that I post this here.. So the above is my original post. since then, I have installed ubuntu. and then found out that moblin will/has moved to fedora? So now im trying to get fedora up and running.. I was having an issue running sudo image-creator yesterday. I will try again today (new virtualbox) and will see what happens.. _______________________________________________ Moblin dev Mailing List [email protected] To manage or unsubscribe from this mailing list visit: https://lists.moblin.org/mailman/listinfo/dev or your user account on http://moblin.org once logged in.
