Jimmy was the one who has work on the Addons. He should be able to send you a pointer or 2.
Jimmy, Can you send Erik a pointer to some of the working addons? Thanks, Carl -----Original Message----- From: Johnson, Erik J Sent: Monday, November 17, 2008 3:15 PM To: Wong, Carl; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Browser extension (add-on) porting Sheepishly I have to admit I was wrong. My co-worker pointed out that I apparently can't cut-and-paste a GUID. It works now. Anyway, any pointers to other add-ons would still be appreciated. erik -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Johnson, Erik J Sent: Monday, November 17, 2008 3:09 PM To: Wong, Carl; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Moblin Dev] RE: Browser extension (add-on) porting Thanks Carl. That didn't fix my problem (I found that GUID while poking around in the extensions.rdf file in my installation), but I suspect I would have needed this fix eventually. Can you point me at a working midbrowser extension? I could probably look at such an extension and figure out what I am doing wrong. I'm trying to port an existing Firefox 2+ plugin I wrote to midbrowser. When I attempt to install my plugin I get an "Incompatible Extension" error. I tried changing the minVersion and maxVersion in the install.rdf to include 0.3.0.rc1 (and even all versions with a *), but that had no effect. I am (still) using the Firefox GUID as the target application. Is there a new GUID for midbrowser? If so, can someone point me at it? Or, if there is a how-to on differences in writing an add-on for midbrowser that would be appreciated as well.
