We've run into a few challenges with USB keys today playing with the images.

One of my collegues was having trouble with a usb drive earlier.  They'd 
formatted in Windows some time ago and then couldn't get that drive to work.  I 
didn't think the contents of the usb drive had anything to do with the 'dd' 
command as it did a byte-copy and just overwrote the usb contents.
