I don't know about this list specifically, but usually 3) would be 
answered by:

Download the SVN to modified/ and copy to original/. Modify the 
modified/ copy until your feature works. When done, run "diff -Bru 
original/ modified/ > display_image.patch"

That file would then be posted here to given to whoever would be in 
charge of implementing it.
