In the case of Chainsaw and Log4php, I don't see any issues with it, and if people are willing to maintain it (not only short-term fixes), it is possible. Log4j 1 was discussed previously, but we decided against it back then. Theoretically, it is possible to re-animate even that, but there are strong arguments against it.
