[~jayson.minard], the reason we want to move away from the war/servlet
deployment has little to do with documentation, or performance. Jetty and
Tomcat are not very hard to use, and performance is quite good.
Here's an incomplete list of some very good reasons for turning Solr into a
standalone application rather than a webapp:

The issue title is wrong ... we WILL be shipping a .war in 5.x versions. I
will update it to 6.0.
