Andi Vajda resolved PYLUCENE-10.
--------------------------------
Resolution: Won't Fix
This has been discussed before on the pylucene-dev list.
Even picking only 'common' varieties - and assuming consensus can be reached on
what is and isn't common - the final number of combinations, the product of the
common versions for python, java, c++ compiler and OS is just too large for
committers to support. People have at times in the past uploaded their binaries
to various locations on the net and published them on the list. Historically,
these are once-only builds, very rarely more.
Yes, building PyLucene and JCC is not trivial as it involves three programming
languages and three runtime environments. Knowledge on how to use a C++
compiler and a dynamic linker is required.
> Building Pylucene is way too difficult

> The amount of work needed to make a redistributable build for a few common os
> is rather big
> Could there be an effort to provide these pre-built?
