Jan Høydahl commented on SOLR-3016:
-----------------------------------
Uwe, Solr is flexible so we don't need to provide any examples :) Let's face
it: many people never get around to customizing fieldTypes at all, although
they should, so good defaults is a plus.
Steven, isn't it better to optimize for the more common usage of "æ" rather
than corner cases?
If you are an international user trying to find the author Bjørn Kjær in some
index, you'd not find the letter "æ" on your keyboard and could write "björn
kjär" or "bjorn kjar" and get a match.

> The Norwegian/Danish letter "æ" should be folded/transliterated to "a", not
> "ae", to be consistent with the handling of other Scandinavian letters ø=>o,
> å=>a, ä=>a, ö=>o
