I'm more than willing to eat some pain if it makes contributions easier. I just feel like a lot of what makes github successful.... is unfortunately actually in github and not git. Its like if your development team is screaming for linux machines. You have to be careful how to interpret that. If you hand them a bunch of machines with just linux kernels, they probably won't be productive. When they scream for "linux" they want a userland with a shell, compiler, X-windows, editor and so on too.
