Hi, the package was created with Java 1.7 not Java 1.6. This is risky, especially after a discussion with Joe Darcy from Oracle, who strongly discourages this without setting bootclasspath (using a Java 1.6 rt.jar).
The big problem is also broken Javadocs: As all Closeable's in Java 7 also implement AutoCloseable, the Javadocs also lists that interface, which leads to 404 Not found. We already have a special howto, to make nice javadocs (in Java 1.7 style) with correct links (using bootclasspath): http://wiki.apache.org/lucene-java/HowToGenerateNiceJavadocs Sorry, -1 to release this unless rebuilt with Java 1.6! I just wanted to mention: Every MacOSX box still contains Java 1.6, you just have to set JAVA_HOME correctly: lrwxr-xr-x 1 jenkins staff 64 Dec 27 17:05 jdk1.6.0 -> /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk/Contents/Home lrwxr-xr-x 1 jenkins staff 63 Feb 23 23:08 jdk1.7.0 -> /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.7.0_15.jdk/Contents/Home Uwe ----- Uwe Schindler H.-H.-Meier-Allee 63, D-28213 Bremen http://www.thetaphi.de eMail: u...@thetaphi.de > -----Original Message----- > From: Mark Miller [mailto:markrmil...@gmail.com] > Sent: Tuesday, March 26, 2013 4:24 AM > To: dev@lucene.apache.org > Subject: [VOTE] Lucene/Solr 4.2.1 > > http://people.apache.org/~markrmiller/lucene_solr_4_2_1r1460810/ > > Thanks for voting! > > Smoke tester passes for me, > > +1. > > -- > - Mark > > --------------------------------------------------------------------- > To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@lucene.apache.org For additional > commands, e-mail: dev-h...@lucene.apache.org --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@lucene.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@lucene.apache.org
