I'd like to propose a 4.3.1 bugfix release sometime soon because of bugs

I'll backport SOLR-4795, SOLR-4797, SOLR-4798 to the 4.3 branch and
update the build, changelog and jira issues appropriately.

Shall we target next Friday (17/May) to get all bugs backported to the
branch and then create a RC?

+1

I'd be OK with a faster timeframe, too. Other issues to consider:

4.3 has a potential showstopper problem with the new core discovery mode. If your core.properties files do not have dataDir, or have the same relative dataDir value, the cores will fail to start properly. One workaround is to have a full absolute path for dataDir in each file, but that's not a very good option.

The showstopper was mentioned on SOLR-4773, but I don't think that a separate issue has been filed. SOLR-4773 may be the patch that fixes this, but that hasn't been 100% confirmed. The only thing that has been 100% confirmed is that branch_4x doesn't have the problem.

SOLR-4358 should probably be backported -- it shows up in the 4.3 CHANGES.txt but due to a timing problem, is not actually included in the 4.3.0 release.

Jira has already been updated on SOLR-4791 (the sharedLib issue), but I don't think the backport has been done yet.

Thanks,
Shawn
