Lance, there are still unresolved issues in this patch. For example, look at
the "/tmp" issue I noted earlier. And now for example you're making a
LinkedHashMap into a HashMap when I'm not sure that's correct.
To close this out, I will try to put this into a committable form on my end,
and if it's all pretty minor I'll just commit it to move forward.
