1.0.3 may work as it is from the same branch as 0.20.205, but I do not know for 
sure. I comment on that because your error indicates an IPC error. If Mahout 
integrates against a different version of Hadoop then the wire protocol may be 
incompatible. My guess is that you may make it work by changing the version of 
Hadoop that is used in Mahout to 1.0.3 and recompiling. If it compiles, chances 
are it will work.
