Yes I agree that virtual conferences etc separate to the OOoCon would be appropriate. It is important for OOo people to gather each year to meet in person. However it could be possible to maybe have a virtual conference one year and an "in person" conference the other year. IE there would be a virtual conf. every second year and a face-to-face conference every other year.
